Make a pair of undies in your favourite style that fit like a dream! Super simple and quick to construct on an overlocker, they’re the perfect introduction to stretch fabrics for both the beginner and experienced sewist.

Gender & size expansive patterns from Zoë Felice are included and Zoe herself will teach you how to customise them to suit diverse bodies and styles. Non gender-confirming and male identifying folks are encouraged to attend!

Choose from a knicker or boyleg style pattern as your basic shape. Both provide good coverage over the bum and feature soft bands that make for the comfiest fit. The line can be cut away to your liking to create something cheeky, or else why not try the boyleg as a hipster or with a high waist. It’s up to you!

We recommend using a natural cotton, bamboo or merino knit fabric for ultimate breathability! 

Skill level: You will sew your undies entirely on an overlocker (byo or use one of ours) so will need basic overlocking skills. At minimum you will have used an overlocker for basic sewing and/or finishing of seams. If you haven’t used one before, come along to our very popular Overlocker Basics workshop first and learn about what this amazing machine can do!

Overlockers are the natural friend of knit or stretch fabric. They make stretch garments super speedy to sew and the skills you learn can be applied to a wide range of stretchy clothing including street, active and underwear. If you’re keen to become an overlocker whizz, we have our Make a Jumper / Sweat Shirt on your Overlocker workshop the afternoon of the same day (June 1st 1-4pm and again on July 10th). Come to both and walk away with a sweat shirt and kickers and the skills to make many more kinds of stretch garments!

We will provide: Overlockers if you need to use one of ours. Sewing patterns and sewing equipment. A small range of fabrics.

You will take home: A sewing pattern customised to your knicker needs; a fab pair of undies and the skills to make many more in different styles!

NB: If covid related circumstances prevent you from attending on the date you book, you may transfer to the next date this workshop is held. You must be fully vaccinated to attend this workshop.
