Stylish Remakes: Upcycle Preloved Shirts!

In this three-hour workshop you will learn simple and creative ways to upcycle men’s shirts into stylish new garments of your choice!

The op shops are packed with men’s shirts and many of them are made from quality fabrics in great colour combos! Lean how to utilise this great resource to create one-off styles that you’ll love.

Choose to make a ’two-shirt’ dress, a cropped jacket, or a funky top and skirt ensemble. You will be offered lots of creative suggestions to adapt our simple re-makes to your personal style.

Skill level: You have basic sewing machine skills and can sew and finish seams, and/or make simple alterations to garments.

What to bring: 2 – 4 men’s shirts (2 long sleeved and at least one close-is to your size so not too big on top). Shirts made from 100% natural fibres are best. eg. Soft cotton chambray or flannel, denim, lightweight 100% cotton or cotton/linen blend. Choose shirts that just have side seams. Shirts with extra seams or darts down side front and back are not suitable.

NB: If covid related circumstances prevent you from attending on the date you book, you may transfer to the next date this workshop is held. You must be fully vaccinated to attend this workshop.
