Have you got a string of pearls, gemstones, crystals or beads from your grandma, mother, great aunts or any sentimental beads to be re-wired or remodelled into a new piece? Join this workshop in Melbourne!

Tiger tail and wire chaining are timeless, durable techniques that stands the test of time. Recycle any strand of beads to recreate a wearable piece using professional products and methods to bring your jewellery back to life.

Perhaps you have a three-string piece that you would like to divide up for family members? Or a necklace to make into two smaller bracelets? The options are endless!

This class will take place across two sessions of three hours each on Sunday afternoons.

Class 1:

Learn the traditional techniques of using tiger tail and crimps to create a new set of matching earrings and necklace from your existing jewellery. Some recycled beads and pearls will be available at our first class for learning purposes and to supplement your pieces if need be.

Bring along your own pieces to this class, to discuss the best way to recreate these personal pieces and get started!

Class 2:

In this second class, you will cover wire chaining, using wire to create loops on either side of bead to join together and make another set of recreated jewellery pieces. Recreate and refashion your personal pieces with the skills gained in class, under jeweller Danielle’s expert guidance.

Skill level: Beginners welcome

We will provide: Initial materials for first sampling class. Please bring along your pieces to mend or restring and we will discuss them in the first class. Tea and coffee available.

Bring along:  Jewellery pieces you’re hoping to mend or recreate.
