Learn-to-Sew Kids Summer Holiday Workshops: January 14th – 23rd

Kids Can Sew Too! School holiday sewing workshops kids aged between 8 and 18. In age-appropriate classes, kids and teens will build their skills in classes of up to 10 kids – with enough teachers on hand to meet demand for the whole day.

They will take home something ‘me made’ each day. We provide upcycled fabrics and notions for each project.

Week 1:

Tuesday 14th January 9.30am-3.30pm – BEGINNERS – Flower Cushion

Perfect for kids with little-to-no sewing experience, they will learn all the sewing machine basics in the morning  and then will complete their very own flower cushion to take home in the afternoon!  This workshop is ideal for kid’s who want to try out sewing or have a recently purchased sewing machine they would like to learn to use. It is a prerequisite for joining one of our our term one Kid’s Sewing Courses (commencing Term 4 – Limited spots left!).

Wednesday 15th January 9.30am-3.30pm – BEYOND BASICS – Beach Bag

Suitable for both absolute beginners and kids with a little more experience on the sewing machine (inc. those who have attended Beginners workshops on the 14th). They will  sew their vey own beach bag to take home. NB: Please make sure that your child is capable on a sewing machine or has completed our Monday workshop before booking this class on its own.

Thursday 16th January 9.30am-3.30pm – INTERMEDIATE – Beach Shorts

For kids with existing sewing skills – come along and make your very own beach shorts for summer! Great for the kids who already come to our term classes, or those who have attended the previous days in the holiday workshops. NB: Please make sure that your child is capable on a sewing machine before booking this class on its own.

Week 2:

Tuesday 21st January 9.30am-3.30pm – BEGINNERS – Watermelon Plushie

Perfect for kids with little-to-no sewing experience, they will learn all the sewing machine basics in the morning  and then will complete their very own watermelon plushie cushion to take home in the afternoon!  This workshop is ideal for kid’s who want to try out sewing or have a recently purchased sewing machine they would like to learn to use. Wednesday 22nd January 9.30am-3.30pm – BEYOND BASICS – Insulated Lunch Bag

Suitable for both absolute beginners and kids with a little more experience on the sewing machine (inc. those who have attended Beginners workshops on the 14th or 21st). They will sew their very own insulated lunch bag to take home. NB: Please make sure that your child is capable on a sewing machine or has completed our Monday workshop before booking this class on its own.

Thursday 23rd January 9.30am-3.30pm – INTERMEDIATE – Ruffle Top

For kids with existing sewing skills – come along and make your very own ruffle top for summer! Great for the kids who already come to our term classes, or those who have attended the previous days in the holiday workshops. NB: Please make sure that your child is capable on a sewing machine before booking this class on its own.

Bring along: A sewing machine if your child has one they would like to learn on (no toy or ‘mini’ machines please). A basic sewing kit if you have one (we sell Sewing Starter Packs containing quality essentials if needed). Snacks, lunch and water bottle.

Booking Policies:  Due to our small class numbers our workshops are NON REFUNDABLE and NON TRANSFERABLE. Be sure to familiarise yourself with all our Refund and Cancellation Policies before booking to avoid disappointment.
