If you:
– are considering buying a machine but want to give sewing a try first
– have recently purchased a sewing machine but haven’t taken it out of the box yet
– have a lovely old machine you’ve inherited or picked up second-hand, languishing in a cupboard
then this is the class for you!
In this three hour workshop you will learn:
We will provide: Sewing machines and all other equipment, snacks, and handout notes and lots of very useful tips and tricks!
Bring along: Your own sewing machine if you would like to learn on that and your sewing kit if you have one. Any remnant fabric you would like to use to make a tote bag and/or cushion. If you don’t have fabric, we have plenty on hand!
Our small class numbers (maximum 6 students) allow your teacher Gaye to give each student lots of personalised attention.
As a follow-up to this session, we recommend our Sewing Pattern Basics workshop (held the afternoon of the same day as this workshop) or our Make a Garment in a Day Workshop — a Beyond Basics Intensive that will introduce you to making clothes following a sewing pattern (this will run again in May- date TBC).
Where: The Gaye Abandon Workroom, 122 Buckley St, Footscray.
When: Sewing Machine Basics Workshop Sunday 31st March 10am – 1pm
Getting here: We are just near the corner of Buckley St and Victoria St in Footscray.
