Pocket Retrofit Workshop! Sunday 3rd March 2 – 5pm
Come along to this Pocket Retrofit Workshop and learn how to add pockets of various kinds to existing garments.
Are some of your favourite items of clothing lacking an essential feature? Add pockets to them and you’ll love them even more!
Who doesn’t love pockets in their clothes? More than just handy, they’re indispensable! Make your wardrobe more functional with the addition of a pocket or two to those pesky clothes that came without them.
In this fun pocket retrofit workshop you will learn to sew patch, in-seam pockets and simple welt pockets into existing garments and replace worn out pockets.
Our small class numbers (max 6) allow your teacher to give each student lots of personalised attention. The class requires a minimum of 4 students to proceed.
Skill level: For sewists with basic sewing skills who know how to use a sewing machine. Men are encouraged to attend!
We will provide: All equipment, tea and coffee, a range of fabrics for making pockets from and handouts.
Bring along: Items of clothing that you would like to add pockets to. We recommend dresses, skirts, simple (not tailored) pants or shorts, tops or tees. (We can advise you on which are the best items to add pockets too).
Some fabric you would like to make your pockets from. This doesn’t necessarily have to match your garment. A bit of mix and match works a treat!
Your own sewing kit if you have one.
NB. Due to time constraints tailored items with lining, or garments with complex designs can not be tackled.
