Summer Overlocker Intensive: Make your own Swimsuit
$195.00
Come along and extend those overlocker skills even FURTHER!
Together we will size you up and mix and match one piece or two-piece options from the Cottesloe Pattern by Megan Nielsen. High cut, boyleg, low waist, high waist, more support or less – we can adapt the pattern best for your comfort and style. Everyone welcome!
We’ll us a mix of sewing machines and overlockers to get a professional finish – we’ll provide the haberdashery, and you just need to come with your fabric and a copy of the pattern (digital is fine, as long as you can prove your purchase you’re welcome to copy off our hard copies to save you on the printing costs if that’s helpful).
What you will need:
- four-way stretch fabric suitable for swimwear (chlorine-resistant Lycras are not a given – make sure you get swimwear-approved lycra if you are wanting to swim in chlorinated pools)
- the Cottesloe Swimsuit Pattern
- four spools of cotton to match your fabric (we some basic colours if you’d prefer to use ours)
We have swimwear elastic on hand but if you think you’d like a wide elastic waistband in your swim bottoms then make sure to bring some along just in case.
The majority of this project will be completed on the overlocker, so feel free to bring along your own if you are able. We also have some overlockers for you to use if need be, and we will provide sewing machines to finish off when required – no need to bring along two machines!
Please note: An intermediate level of overlocking skills will be required to tackle this project. If you are new to your overlocker, please enrol in our Overlocker Basics workshop running on Saturday 11th January 2 – 5pm to learn the basics.
