Love your clothes this Valentine’s Day, and bring a friend, flame or family member to share in the fun.

Do you have a favourite t-shirt or dress that has a pesky hole or oil stain, rendering it unwearable?

Give it some love in this workshop, using paint, yarn, or fabric and pull it back into your wardrobe to wear with pride.

In this class you’ll learn some popular, fun and easy methods under the talented guidance of Erin Lewis-Fitzgerald, master mender and author of Modern Mending.

Heart-shaped mends are optional (but super fun – especially on the seats of kid pants).

Enjoy good vibes, snacks and a glass of prosecco or sparkling water on arrival. Make sure to head next door to Back Alley Sally’s for a bite to eat and a cocktail after the workshop!

Skill level

Beginner-intermediate. No mending experience is required, and the class can be made more challenging for experienced menders.

Tools and materials

Mending supplies will be available to use and to purchase, or you are welcome to bring your own. Students will receive a list of recommended supplies upon booking.

What to bring

Clothing, tea towels or fabric for mending and maximising. If you don’t have anything in need of mending (lucky you!) you can practise with fabric scraps from SOSU’s stash.
