Learn-to-Sew Short Course from Sept 1st (10hrs)
Learn the basics and make three fun and useful projects!
Starting from scratch, you will gain the sewing skills to get you started making homewares, clothes and crafts. Each week you will build up your practice and learn new techniques. This short course is an abridged version of our 15hr Beginner’s Sewing Course commencing late April.
Past Projects (NB, The class content may vary over the duration of the course depending on the preferences of the student group).
WEEK 1 Sewing Machine Basics: Pillow Slip or Face Mask
WEEK 2 Deluxe tote bag
WEEK 3 & 4 – Box top or leisure pants
Skill level: Absolute Beginner. If you can already confidently use a machine to make simple items such as the above, and are interested in learning more about making garments, read about our Beyond Basics Courses.
We will provide: Sewing machines and all other equipment, beverages, handout notes, patterns for the projects, fabrics as required and lots of very practical advice and techniques!
Bring along: Your own sewing machine if you would like to learn on that and your sewing kit if you have one (recommended for Covid Safe Plan). Any remnant fabric you would like to use. (We will provide fabric for all the projects but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer). If you don’t yet have a machine don’t worry you can use one of ours. We also sell Sewing Starter Packs

NB: If covid related circumstances mean you have to miss a week we will offer a make-up. You must be fully vaccinated to attend classes.
