Kid’s School Holiday Workshops
Two fun school holiday workshops for girls and boys aged between 8 and 12.
Tuesday workshop: Sewing Machine Basics
Ideal for kid’s who want to try out sewing or have a sewing machine they would like to learn to use. We will start from the very beginning, learning the parts of the machine, how to thread and unthread it, and how to sew lines and curves. After the class has mastered the basics they will make a simple fun project to take home. If your child has a sewing machine they would like to use they can work on that (no toy or ‘mini’ machines please), if not they can use one of ours. All other material and equipment is provided.
Thursday workshop: Make a Dinosaur or Unicorn Hat
The class will work on a super-cool winter hat made from recycled fabrics. This project will involve hand and machine stitching as well as a bit of glueing.
The workshops can be taken together or separately however basic machine sewing skills are desirable for the second workshop. Each workshop will have a maximum of 5 students. Four enrolments are required for the workshop to proceed.
Please contact us if you have any questions or would like more information.
We will provide: Sewing machines and all other equipment and materials.
Bring along: Your own sewing machine if you would like to learn on that (we have plenty if you don’t own one). Some snacks and a drink.
Our small class numbers (maximum 5 students) allow your teacher Zoe to give each student lots of personalised attention.
