Kids Can Sew Too! School holiday sewing workshops kids aged between 8 and 14. In age-appropriate classes, kids and teens will build their skills in classes of up to 10 kids – with enough teachers on hand to meet demand for the whole day.

They will take home something ‘me made’ each day. We provide upcycled fabrics and notions for each project.

Monday 12th January  9.30am-3.30pm – Level 1 Foundation – Paper Bag Shorts

Perfect for kids with little-to-no sewing experience, they will learn all the sewing machine basics in the morning  and then will complete their very own shorts  to take home in the afternoon!  This workshop is ideal for kid’s who want to try out sewing or have a recently purchased sewing machine they would like to learn to use. It is a prerequisite for joining one of our term three Kid’s Sewing Courses (commencing Term 4 – Mon 6th October 2025).

Tuesday 13th January  9.30am-3.30pm – Level 2 Application – Whale Sling Bag

For those kids who know how to thread up a sewing machine, and those who have done the Beginners class the day before (Monday 22nd September). They will advance their sewing skills and make their own whale sling bag. This workshop is ideal for kid’s who have done some sewing at home or at our after-school classes and want some holiday sewing fun!

Wednesday  14th January  9.30am-3.30pm – Level 1 Foundation – Sea Shell Cushion

Perfect for kids with little-to-no sewing experience, they will learn all the sewing machine basics in the morning  and then will complete their very own sea shell cushion to take home in the afternoon!  This workshop is ideal for kid’s who want to try out sewing or have a recently purchased sewing machine they would like to learn to use. For those kids who know how to thread up a sewing machine, and those who have done the Beginners class in the days leading up to this workshop. They will advance their sewing skills and make a cat cushion. This workshop is ideal for kid’s who have done some sewing at home or at our after-school classes and want some holiday sewing fun!

Bring along: A sewing machine if your child has one they would like to learn on (no toy or ‘mini’ machines please). A basic sewing kit if you have one (we sell Sewing Starter Packs containing quality essentials if needed). Snacks, lunch and water bottle.
