Kid’s Beginner Sewing Course Term 1 – 8 weeks from Monday 1st February 4.15 – 5.45pm
A creative, term- long course for girls and boys who want to learn to sew.
Over eight 1.5 hr classes, your child will learn the basics of how to use a sewing machine. They will practice and build their skills as the term progresses, sewing a range of different items including a novelty cushion cover, pin cushion, a tote bag and pyjama pants. We will also teach some hand sewing skills.
Children may bring their own sewing machine or use one of ours (see what to bring below). We have safe drop off right outside our door inside the Hyde Business Park. Our kid’s classes are capped at 5 students. Our courses are
Skill level: This course is pitched at absolute beginner children aged 8 – 12. No knowledge is assumed. Suitable for girls and boys eight years and older.
About your teachers: Gaye and Olivia have extensive experience teaching children to sew, both privately and in small groups. They both hold a Working with Children check.
We will provide: Sewing machines (if needed) and all other sewing equipment however feel free to byo sewing kit. Patterns and templates for all the projects and fabric for most. Lots of encouragement and support!
Bring along: Your child’s sewing machine if they would prefer to learn on that. NB. No toy, mini or computerised machines please. The teacher will let you know what materials are needed for future classes.

Cost: $360 for the 8 week term ($45 per class inc. gst)
Monday afternoons 4.15 – 6.15pm
8 weeks — February 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd March 1st, 15th, 22nd & 29th. No class on Labour Day.

You can choose to make payment via Paypal using a credit card / Paypal balance, or by Direct Deposit. You will find our bank details in your booking confirmation email. If you don’t receive an email upon booking please check your Junk folder.
NB. If you are booking more than 6 weeks in advance, payment can be made in two instalments via direct deposit with the balance due two weeks before the commencement of classes. If you would like to take this option, please choose Direct Deposit at checkout and make payment of 50% of the course fee when you book (please enter order number and DEP in the description field)
