Intermediate Sewing Course – Term One 2022 – 6 weeks (15hrs) Tuesday evenings from 15th February
Learn custom fitting and more advanced sewing techniques!
Over six classes you will finesse your garment-making skills by sewing a beautifully fitted and finished item of clothing. Our Term One project is a summer dress with a lined, fitted bodice. (In subsequent terms we will tackle semi-tailored pants and shirts). For each set project, we will offer 2 – 3 sewing pattern suggestions and are open to discussing other pattern options as long as they meet the nominated criteria.
As well as practicing more advanced sewing techniques, you will learn how to adjust patterns and garments-in-progress to achieve a good fit. Please note: Some sewing between classes will be required to keep up.
Skill level: This course is for students who have completed our Beyond Basics course or have sewing skills similar to those covered at this level. You will be able to confidently use a sewing machine to sew garments following ‘advanced beginner’ sewing patterns. (such as casual shirts, skirts with zip closures, relaxed-fit tops or dresses, t-shirts or pull-on pants). Open to adults of any age and gender! Please feel free to contact us if you are unsure if this level is right for you.
