Intermediate Sewing Course Term 2

$460.00

Term 1 has now commenced. Please contact us if you would like to register your interest for Term 2 courses (commencing late April). We will get in touch when bookings open.
An ‘advanced beginners’ course for sewists who have completed our Beginners and Beyond Basics courses (or equivalent). Students have the skills to confidently use a sewing machine to sew garments and other textiles following easy patterns.

Over eight 2 1/2 hour lessons you will continue to learn new skills and consolidate your sewing practice. In this course you will make a classic long sleeved shirt and a fitted dress (some sewing between classes will be required to keep up). Both are more challenging projects, which teach skills essential to the advanced sewist’s repertoire.

Along with advanced sewing techniques you will learn how to adjust patterns and garments-in-progress so they fit you properly.

We will provide: Sewing machines and all other equipment, snacks, and handout notes and lots of very practical techniques!

Bring along: Your own sewing machine if you would  like to learn on that, patterns, fabric, pins, interfacing and matching thread.

Where: The Gaye Abandon Workroom, 122 Buckley St, Footscray.

When: Term 2 courses will begin in late April.

Getting here: We are just near the corner of Buckley St and Victoria St in Footscray. 3 minutes walk from Middle Footscray Station. 2hr street parking out front and nearby. See Contact Page for a map.
