Engaging school holiday workshops for girls and boys aged between 8 and 12.
Tuesday 22nd January: Sewing Machine Basics
Ideal for kid’s who want to try out sewing or have a sewing machine they would like to learn to use. We will start from the very beginning, learning the parts of the machine, how to thread and unthread it, and how to sew lines and curves. After the class has mastered the basics they will make a simple fun project to take home. If your child has a sewing machine they would like to use they can work on that (no toy or ‘mini’ machines please), if not they can use one of ours. All other material and equipment is provided.
Thursday 24th January workshop: Make a Dinosaur or Unicorn Hat
The class will work on a super-cool hat made from recycled fabrics. This project will involve hand and machine stitching as well as a bit of glueing.
The workshops can be taken together or separately however basic machine sewing skills are desirable for the second workshop. Each workshop will have a maximum of 5 students. Four enrolments are required for the workshop to proceed.

We will provide: Sewing machines and all other equipment and materials.
Bring along: Your own sewing machine if you would like to learn on that (we have plenty if you don’t own one). Some snacks and a drink.
Our small class numbers (maximum 5 students) allow your teacher Zoe to give each student lots of personalised attention.

Learn versatile embroidery stitches and create beautiful native flower designs
Create french knots, lazy daisy stitch, chain and straight stitch, along with other embroidery techniques ato create beautiful native flower embellishments! Your guest teacher Simone Berman will also teach you embroidery fundamentals. With no experience necessary, start your embroidery journey today! Head to this fun embroidery course with your friends and family for some relaxation and creativity.
Skill level – Absolute Beginner to competent hand sewer. No experience necessary but if you do have some hand sewing knowledge come and learn some new stitches in this fun creative session! Open to adults, teens and children (min age 8). Men and non-binary folks are most welcome.
We will provide: Embroidery threads in many colours, needles, hoops, base fabrics and all other equipment.
Bring along: A loved textile you’d like to embroider your designs onto (optional). Embroidery is great for mending and embellishing as well as creating new pieces. BYO sewing kit and embroidery floss if you prefer.
