Description
Draft a Skirt Pattern to your own Measurements
Learn simple pattern drafting techniques to make a skirt pattern to your own measurements. Your skirt pattern block can then be used to develop your own designs.
NB. This class is limited to a maximum of 4 people (rather than our usual 6) to ensure everyone has enough space to work, and so the teacher can focus on your individual fitting requirements. The slightly higher than usual workshop fee reflects this.
An introduction to pattern making, the basis for creating your own clothing designs. Learning how to draft a basic skirt pattern teaches you the fundamentals from which you can expand your sewing repertoire to adjust and create garments tailored to your personal style as well as your body shape! This workshop is the first of a series of pattern drafting sessions scheduled for 2018.
In this session you will draft a basic skirt block (basic pattern) using your own hip and waist measurements. You will then cut out and sew up a sample of your pattern and make small adjustments by pinning onto the body and transfer those changes/refinements back to the pattern. By the end of the workshop you should have a well-fitted skirt ‘block’ that can be played with and changed to make lots of different skirt designs.
This workshop may be taken in conjunction with our Pattern Drafting: Design a Panel Skirt workshop. However each workshop is a stand alone session that offers an Introduction to Pattern Drafting.
Book both workshops at once and receive $20 off your total class fee ($10 per workshop). Just quote the code DRAFT20 on checkout.
